From time to time all schools receive an inspection from Her Majesty’s Inspectorate for Education. Halyrude had a full inspection in March 2010 and follow through inspections in March 2011 and January 2012. The reports for all three inspections are available on the Education Scotland website.
Schools are expected to provide detailed improvement plans to respond to the findings of such reports and our own response is clearly detailed in our school improvement plan which is available below.
School Improvement Planning
Every school in Scotland is required by legislation to prepare and share its school improvement plan. The SIP is based on the school’s own audit of performance or on the basis of any external audits e.g. Her Majesty’s Inspector of Education (HMIE). This plan also takes account of the views of children and their parents regarding any improvements or priorities for the school. The plan outlines actions the school will take to secure further improvement and provides details of 'who, why and when'.
Our SIP is currently a response to our HMIE follow through inspection from January 2012 and is calibrated to ensure the improvements identified by the inspection team from that process. A copy of our current plan is attached along with the audit the school completed as a result of very detailed and helpful advice provided HMIE as part of the inspection.
